This documentary portrays the stigma surrounding menstruation in Kathikhera, a rural village outside of New Delhi, India. High school students at Oakwood raised over $55,000 to purchase a sanitary pad machine for these women in Kathikhera, and went on to form partnerships to document this new journey. Sophie Aschiem, Class of 2022 at Yale University, has received an Oscar for contributing to this documentary as an executive producer. She also co-founded The Pad Project which is a youth-led organization working to empower women by ending period stigma.
Period. End of Sentence. is short but fosters a strong sense of female empowerment.
